In the photos, interiors of the Galleria Cartavetra in Florence
Cartavetra Gallery – Via Maggio, 64R – Florence
The Cartavetra Gallery is a space dedicated to contemporary art, founded in 2015 by Brunella Baldi.
It was born from the desire to create a meeting place that can break with the traditional model of the gallery intended for a few initiates, establishing itself as one of the most dynamic and emerging galleries in the contemporary art sector of the city.
It is located in the Oltrarno district, between Pitti and S. Spirito Square, close to the Florentine shopping streets.
The gallery’s artistic choices are focused on enhancing emerging and mid-career talents.
Over the years, Cartavetra has become a reference center for contemporary art in Florence. Housed in a space strongly characterized by the typical architecture of the sixteenth-century buildings in Via Maggio, it is spread over two large rooms for a total of approximately 130 m2 of exhibition area.
The gallery promotes its artists through the organization of exhibitions in its space and in public institutions, as well as through the publication of monographs and catalogues. He has organized numerous exhibitions, participated in national and international fairs, collaborated with museums and institutions.
It also organizes artist residencies and promotes art through meetings with artists, talks and in-depth studies on topics related to the artistic and literary fields.
Exhibition and Video Exhibition
15 January – 01 February 2025
All the works admitted to the prize will be exhibited in video exhibition for 15 days, from the 15th of January to the 1st of February 2025, at the Cartavetra Gallery in Florence.
Brunella Baldi
I founded the Cartavetra Gallery in 2015, immediately trying to build a very personal path, linked to my curiosity.
My love for art developed together with my career as a contemporary dancer first and as an editorial illustrator later.
Starting to collect and present artists was the next step.
I have built my space and my artistic proposal in the name of sharing, or even better, participation. Fundamental elements for a new gallery format. I think that for an emerging space like ours it is not possible to adhere to a traditional model with only the exhibition proposal. Our artists are invited to talk about their work, to lead workshops, to work directly in our space.
Our appointments have often turned into a large cultural gathering where people meet, talk, laugh in the spirit of discussion.
The thought that accompanies and has accompanied all the initiatives started from the essential search for professionalism and the quality of the work presented.
Then that of involving the public, bringing as many people as possible to enjoy the art, to enter the gallery.
Removing/shortening the distance between the public and the gallery has been our daily mantra.
The Artista d’Europa Award 2024 will be promoted on L’Espresso from January 24 to 30, 2025.
The names and works of all artists admitted to the award will be accessible via a QR Code directly from the pages of one of the most important national weekly magazines.
The weekly magazine of politics, culture, and economics, boasting over 3 million users and readers.
An unmissable opportunity for visibility

Grand Presentation Gala
at the historic Palazzo Pucci
Via de’ Pucci, 4, 50122 Florence
Located in the heart of Florence, Palazzo Pucci is an extraordinary example of Florentine Renaissance architecture.
This majestic building, built in the 16th century, houses a collection of highly relevant works of art and represents an important cultural heritage. Today, Palazzo Pucci is the ideal location for private events thanks to its privileged position in the historic center of the city.
The fame of the palace is not limited only to the beauty of its sumptuous halls, decorated with frescoes, paintings and sculptures of inestimable value. It is also known for the mystery that surrounds the walled-up window on the ground floor, at the corner of Via dei Servi. This window is a silent witness to the “Pucci conspiracy“, an intriguing story linked to this family that was once allied with the powerful Medici. It is said that from that window the hired assassins positioned themselves to try to assassinate Cosimo de Medici. As a sign of reporting and punishment, the window was bricked up and remains as a testimony to this fascinating episode.
Even today, part of the magnificent Palazzo Pucci is inhabited by the descendants of this singular family. Here, past and present blend harmoniously creating a unique place that preserves the legacy of one of the most fascinating families in Florentine history.
